We all think we know bullying when we see it, but bullying can also be something we don’t see. Often, people who experience it feel invisible. Bullying is when someone keeps doing or saying things to have power over another person.
When you’re being bullied it can feel very scary and lonely, you can feel sad, angry, embarrassed and sometimes it may seem like nobody cares and that nobody can do anything to make things different for you…that’s not true and things can get better.
Being bullied can be a very scary and lonely time. having someone to talk to can make a huge difference. Here you can find contacts for people able to help.
It’s a good idea to talk to the person you think is being bullied to find out more about the situation. Try to remember that the person you are talking with could be very sensitive about the situation and could be scared to talk about it.
We’re all about showing how e can promote kindness, caring and looking after each other. We do a lot of this through arts and resource creation. look what we’ve been up to lately.
Over the past year Ican has been involved in a number of different projects around the community.
Ican is a youth focused group with approximately 25 students aged 9-16. We get together to co-ordinate and undertake community projects that promotes kindness, anti-bullying and supporting one another.
Te Manawa Services provides a 15-week programme for young people aged 8 to 18 years and their parent/caregiver(s). The programme provides individual counselling support to help young people to deal with any issues of anger, bullying or abuse.
